Graham Audio's slotted improvement on the BBC LS5/8 model.

There are two major changes in the LS5/8S design compared to the original LS5/8 version.

The first is the use of a diffraction slot in front of the bass driver. The original BBC Research Department LS5/8 design had a slot incorporated, but this was dropped in the final production version. The slot design is very successful in improving the smoothness of the off axis response.

The second change is the application of the Seas 34mm tweeter in place of the Audax tweeter. The Seas gives improved performance especially in the area just above the crossover point, blending well with the smoother response of the revised bass driver configuration.
